Thousands of buildings in Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, Şanlıurfa, and Elazığ were damaged in the earthquake, which affected 10 provinces centered in Kahramanmaraş and Pazarcık. While the sampling process from the damaged buildings continues, KAEU continues its studies in the region.

Head of Construction Department of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Vocational School of Technical Sciences Asst. Prof. Dr. Şevki Eren and Head of Construction Department of Kaman Vocational High School Instr. Serdar Korkmaz work as an expert with the staff of the laboratory staff from the DSI 23rd Regional Directorate at the Quality Control and Laboratory Branch of Kahramanmaraş DSI 20th Regional Directorate with the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor. The team of experts working under the leadership of KAEU Faculty Members examines and reports the concrete and reinforcement samples taken from the buildings destroyed in the earthquake. The teams also continue to work on the material and soil properties and structural behavior of many damaged buildings. With the studies carried out, our faculty members contribute with analyzes and reports in order to transform the 10 provinces that were badly damaged in the earthquake into earthquake resistant cities.
