After the earthquake, the epicenter of which was in Kahramanmaraş, KAEU mobilized all its means and sent a team of 13 people, including 10 faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Civil Engineering, and 2 engineers and 1 technician from the Directorate of Construction and Technical Works, to Osmaniye and Adıyaman to conduct damage assessment in the earthquake zone.
In order to examine the structural damage caused by the earthquakes of which the epicenters were in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023, the faculty members and research assistants of the Civil Engineering Department of KAEU Engineering and Architecture Faculty were in Osmaniye since 13 February 2023, and the team of engineers has been in Adıyaman since 8 February 2023. As part of the fieldwork, the teams, which continue their examinations under the coordination of Osmaniye and Adıyaman Provincial Directorates of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, will make the necessary examinations and determine the damage in the buildings.
