Since 2015, our university has shown rapid growth physically, academically, and in general terms.

Kırşehir Ahi Evran University has taken firm steps towards becoming a brand university in its region since 2015. Rector Karakaya, who took over the management with a student and people-oriented university understanding, has made every effort since 2015 to raise quality people and provide quality education. In our new news series of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, we will present the development journey of our university each week on a yearly basis from 2015 to 2023.



Rector Karakaya: “Our University is Open to Development in All Fields”

Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who made a statement on the subject, stated that the development journey was important for Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and our city. Rector Karakaya stated that they made all their efforts and did their best to make our university a shining star in its region, and he said that they started to serve with a human-oriented management understanding on the day he took office. He added that they aimed to carry our university to the next level in every field and that they took firm steps towards that goal as the administration. Rector Karakaya also emphasized that they made great efforts as an administration to grow our university rapidly in physical, academic, and scientific fields since they took the office in 2015. He stated that they made Kırşehir Ahi Evran University reach the top with the management and staff of our university. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who stated that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University achieved very important successes in many fields from 2015 to 2023, explained that they took many awards for their achievements.


“A University with Many Achievements in Quality”

Rector of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who said that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, which gained significant momentum in quality studies, took the first step towards quality processes in 2015, noted that quality now had an important place all over the world and institutions were making a distinct effort for the process. He stated that they had shown great success in internal and external audits as a team since 2015 and that all staff of our university had been aware of the Quality Management System. Besides, Rector Karakaya added that our university, which had a successful performance throughout the quality process, was entitled to receive the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Certificate on February 16, 2018, and became the first state university to have that certificate. He stated that our university, which achieved significant success in quality studies, received its own domestic software, "Ahi Evran University Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS)", that received a trademark registration by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in 2015. Moreover, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya said that the Quality Assurance System in Education Coordinator Office and support offices affiliated to the coordinatorship were also established at our university and that the Ahi Competence-Based Digital Education Project (AYDEP) received a patent from the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. Finally, noting that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, which had achieved many successes since 2015, took many awards in the quality process, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya explained that in 2022, IQMS, the domestic software of our university, was awarded the second prize within the scope of the 8th Efficiency Awards by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

“One of the First Universities to Get Full Accreditation for 5 Years”

Kırşehir Ahi Evran University joined the Institutional Accreditation Program, which is a continuation of quality studies and enables universities to be evaluated in terms of quality assurance system, education and training, research and development, social contribution and administrative processes, and aims to increase the national level contributions of universities in Turkiye and their visibility in the world. Emphasizing that KAEU was one of the 12 universities that were included in the Institutional Accreditation Program, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya said that thanks to the intensive efforts of the management and staff of our university, KAEU was a university with a 5-Year Full Accreditation.


“A University Contributing to the Development of the Province with its Pilot Projects”

Rector of KAEU Prof Dr. Vatan Karakaya emphasized that in addition to the quality processes, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University became a pilot university in the field of "Geothermal and Agriculture" within the scope of the Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Project, which was a new higher education approach that would change the direction of higher education in Turkiye, carried out by the Council of Higher Education (CoHE). Rector Karakaya said, “Since the year we took office, we have made great efforts for the development of both our university and our province.” He explained that our university had signed many projects in the field within the scope of pilot university projects and that they were making an effort to make our city a brand city in the field of health. He added that they put into service a 150-bed Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Hospital for that purpose. Moreover, he stated that the Thermal Resource Supply Project, Clustering Project in Thermal Greenhouses, Forage Production Project, Walnut Focused Development and Growth Project, Geothermal Source Rehabilitation Center Project (JEOKAREM), Athlete Health Research, Application, and Thermal Rehabilitation Center Project" (SAUTER), and Traditional and Complementary Medicine (GETAT)” projects of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University carried out within the scope of pilot university projects, both contributed to the regional and provincial economy and support the development of our university in all areas.

“We Started to Contribute to the Physical Development of Our University”

Rector Karakaya, who has also prioritized the physical development of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University since he took office in 2015, said that his first job in this area was to provide the establishment of 824 decares of land for our university. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who explained that they were working on the physical development of our university by focusing on TOKİ 1st Stage and TOKİ 2nd Stage construction works as well as land allocation, said, “We prioritized for our students to attend their classes in their own modern buildings, and we succeeded in that.”.

Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya said that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University had developed in every field since the day he took office and was a university open to development, emphasized that they had succeeded in this process together with the management, staff, and students of our university. Rector Karakaya, who added that everyone from the academic, administrative, and support staff and the students, contributed to the development process of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University since 2015, thanked all the staff and students for supporting him and his administration during the process.



Since 2015, More Importance has been given to Stakeholder Relations

Since Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and our city are inseparable, our university has also undertaken many studies for the development of Kırşehir. Collaboration with many business people and institutions for the development of both our city and our university was one of the first things done at our university, which gave importance to stakeholder relations. Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya met with the President of the Turkish Court of Accounts, the President of the Council of State, and business people from Kırşehir in 2015 and cooperated to contribute to the development of our university and our city.


Again, in 2015, a protocol was signed between our university and Kırşehir Commodity Exchange. It was decided to provide continuous education services to the staff and members of the Commodity Exchange, on subjects such as livestock, agriculture, government support, and incentives. Significant results contributing to animal husbandry and agriculture were obtained in the studies carried out on the 10-decare land that the Commodity Exchange gave to our university. A great contribution was made to the economy of our city with such alternative studies.


Faculty of Islamic Sciences and Kaman School of Applied Sciences were Planned to be Established at KAEU

The KAEU Administration, which has made great efforts to ensure the development of our city with Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, held meetings with the heads of the professional chambers, which are among the stakeholders of our university. As a result of these meetings, the areas that our university would contribute to our city were determined, and studies were carried out to be together with the city, to share, to exchange ideas, and to evaluate the projects of non-governmental organizations and professional chambers. Within the scope of the meetings, Rector Karakaya gave the first good news to our city by bringing up the establishment of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences and Kaman School of Applied Sciences at our university.




During the meetings with the stakeholders, the internship issue of the students of our university was also discussed. Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who advocated that especially students studying in technical sciences should have been in the field, always had the understanding of a student-oriented university since the day he took office.

Since 2015, Student Exchange Programs Agreements have been Increased with the Purpose of Internationalization

Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who attached great importance to internationalization, made breakthroughs in 2015 that would significantly affect academic development. Within the scope of the Student Exchange Program such as Erasmus, Mevlana, and Farabi, bilateral agreements were made between our university and many national and international universities. Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, which is student-oriented and always open to development, has always continued its academic journey with Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya.

Quality Journey of KAEU Began with the First Step Taken in 2015

The quality studies that made Kırşehir Ahi Evran University a model university for Turkish Higher Education started with the appointment of Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya at our university. In Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, where important steps were taken in the quality process as in every field, great importance was attached to creating a quality culture and raising awareness in the field of quality. Our university, which has hosted great successes in the quality process, took the first step in the quality field in 2015.



First Steps were Taken for the Physical Development of KAEU

For the physical growth and development of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya had worked non-stop since he took office. In 2015, when Rector Karakaya took office, our Central Campus had a closed area of 55,789 m². In order to meet the academic, sports, and social activity needs of our university, physical infrastructure works were accelerated. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who worked to meet the land need, which was one of the most essential issues for Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, received the first result of his efforts with the allocation of 824 decares of land to our university. While the amount of open space in our university increased with the land allocation, the student practice and faculty research areas of the Faculty of Agriculture were expanded.

With the Establishment of Application and Research Centers, KAEU Develops Academically

Aiming to contribute to the academic and scientific development of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University as well as its physical development, Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Administration established two research and application centers within our university in 2015. At our university, the Migration and Local Administrations Application and Research Center was established in order to carry out academic studies on migration and local governments under the same roof, and the Turkish and Foreign Language Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER) was established to conduct research and application studies in the fields of Turkish and foreign languages. Our university where the importance of scientific and academic studies is always emphasized continues to contribute to the scientific world with its new centers.
