At Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, which has been successfully continuing its quality process since 2015 and is a role model for other universities and institutions, the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) Inspection and Surveillance, which is carried out annually, started with the opening meeting this year. Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gökbel, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Secretary-General Mehmet Zeki Küçük, Head of TSE Kayseri Provincial Coordination Team Süleyman Selim Ulaş, investigators Halil İbrahim Arslan and Bekir Aksu, Deputy Quality Coordinators Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülbahar Üçler and Ekrem Öztürk and the quality coordinator team attended the meeting held in the KAEU Senate Hall on December 28, 2022. 
Rector Karakaya: “IQMS meets an important need not only of universities but of Türkiye”
The Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya made the opening speech of the TSE Inspection and Surveillance Meeting and stated that he was happy to host the TSE Kayseri Provincial Representative team at KAEU. Emphasizing that TSE Kayseri Provincial Representative Office had a special place for our university, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya said that when they took the first step towards quality, they carried out the process with TSE Kayseri Provincial Representative. Rector Karakaya, who explained that they were working to prepare their quality studies with the aim of meeting the needs of the country when starting the quality process, continued as follows: “The Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS), which meets one of the most important needs of our country, has gone through important stages. As a result of the application we made to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) for trademark registration, BKYS was named 'Ahi Evran University Integrated Quality Management System'. It has been registered with the Ministry of Industry and Technology award that BKYS is a need not only for our university but also for Turkiye and that it is an efficient design that could be used not only in Turkish Higher Education but also in the public sector.”
Rector Karakaya: “We Carried out the Quality Processes with a Team who Believed they could Accomplish this Process”
Expressing that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University led other institutions in quality processes, the Rector of KAEU Prof Dr. Vatan Karakaya stated that their aim since the day they took office was to produce works that would benefit the country and the nation, and noted that quality studies were one of the most important goals in that sense. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who explained that they integrated the education and training processes of the students with quality by implementing the Quality Assurance System in Education in their quality studies, continued as follows: “The addressee of quality is both the management and the students. Kırşehir Ahi Evran University combines these two concepts and trains our students in the best way in their fields.” Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, emphasizing that they introduced IQMS, which is the first domestic design of our country, to other universities, said, "A person who believes it can overcome any difficulties" and added that they carried out the quality processes with a team that believed that they could accomplish that processes.
Rector Karakaya: “Sustainability can be Realized only if Corporate Memories are in the System, not in People”
Rector Karakaya, who stated that sustainability was important in quality studies, explained that the memory of the institution should be incorporated into the system rather than individuals and that the system should work independently from the people by realizing the memory within itself. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya said: “Sustainability can be realized only if corporate memories are incorporated into the system, not in people” and added that they realized that with the IQMS design they prepared. The Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who noted that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University had successfully completed the accreditation studies, stated that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University was the only state university that received 5-year full accreditation among the state universities established after 2006. Rector Karakaya explained that quality studies were one of the most important needs of our country and that our university was always working on it to take these studies further in the name of sustainability, and added: “Our quality coordinator team works with the same speed and enthusiasm, with the same consistency, on the same quality process, focusing on guaranteeing the sustainability, in a dynamic, sensitive, and open to self-correction way at every moment.”. Rector Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who wished our university a successful investigation week, said that he believed that they would go through the process in the best way.
After the speech of the Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, Head of TSE Kayseri Provincial Coordination Team Süleyman Selim Ulaş took the floor. Stating that the leaders had made important contributions to the realization and successful execution of the quality process, Ulaş emphasized that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University had made very important developments in the quality processes under the leadership of Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya. Noting that IQMS, which was the design of KAEU, should be introduced not only to public institutions but also to private sectors, Süleyman Selim Ulaş said that IQMS was a useful system for many institutions and private sectors in our country.
After Head of TSE Kayseri Provincial Coordination Team Süleyman Selim Ulaş, KAEU Deputy Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Huseyin Simsek, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülbahar Üçler and Ekrem Öztürk presented our quality studies and progress with the TSE Coordinator teams.
After the meeting, the quality investigation of the KAEU units was carried out.
