The Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya attended the "Vocational Education and Employment Workshop" held at MUSIAD Headquarters under the coordination of the Planning, Education and Culture Commission of Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) as a moderator. In the workshop held with wide participation, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer and Chairman of MUSIAD Mahmut Asmalı made speeches.

Rector Karakaya took part in the workshop as a moderator. MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı, who made the opening speech of the meeting, said that they were advancing with the mission of providing added value to the development of a qualified workforce and that they had developed sustainable projects that would expand vocational training within that framework. Asmalı noted that it was of great importance for citizens to turn to vocational and technical training in order to meet the need for qualified intermediate staff needed by every production-oriented sector, and added, "Education is a national matter for us in every field and at every scale." Stating that the most important need for SMEs right now was "finding an apprentice", Asmalı gave information about the project initiated by the Ministry of National Education.

Following the opening speech, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer took the floor. In his speech at the workshop, Özer explained the need for successful students to prefer vocational education in order to raise human resources with the skills expected by the business world in the 21st century and added that all countries were carrying out serious work for this reason.

Minister Özer, who made various statements, said, 'Turkiye has entered the process of recovery in vocational education in the last year. Turkiye overcame the problems brought by the coefficient application of the February 28 process. With the initiatives it made in both vocational high schools and vocational training centers, it has brought vocational education to a very important point in terms of providing the human resources needed by the labor market in Türkiye, which made Turkiye much stronger in the vocational education than the coefficient application period.



After his speech, Minister Özer was presented with a donation document by MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı stating that the expenses of an orphan for 6 months were covered on the behalf of Özer. Expressing that he found the gift very valuable, Özer thanked Asmalı. The meeting ended after a group photo shoot.
