Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya was the guest of the "Ahice Bakış" program broadcasted on Ahi TV. In addition to Rector Karakaya, Head of the Neşet Ertaş Faculty of Fine Arts Music Department Prof. Kubilay Kolukırık and Teacher Salih Yeni attended the program moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Kurt, a faculty member of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, discussed various aspects of Akhism in the program.

Ahi Evran-Veli was Influenced by the First Period in Hoy, the Training Given by Fahrettin Razi, and two Years Spent in Baghdad

Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya started his speech by giving information about the personality of Ahi Evran-ı Veli. Reminding that Ahi Evran was born in the city of Hoy in Azerbaijan, Karakaya said that this region was a Turkish homeland. Referring to the fact that the volunteer militaries had migrated to Anatolia from this region, Karakaya said, "Ahi Evran was one of these volunteers. He was a social constructor. Ahi Evran was influenced and educated by the first period in Hoy, the education received from Fahrettin Razi until the age of 33 in Herat, a city of science, and the two years spent in Baghdad. He took the courses of tafsir, fiqh, philosophy, and medicine, that is, he was knowledgeable in both theoretical and religious sciences. After moving to Anatolia from Baghdad, he first settled in Kayseri, then in Konya, and finally in Kırşehir.”

The Goal of AkhismIs to Raise People Inclined to Production, Not Consumption.

Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who pointed out that Akhism was a model of raising people, stated that Ahi Evran had never stopped being organized and not relied on the place. Continuing his speech by explaining the characteristics of the scholars of the period and the Ahi-order, Karakaya said, “These men of heart left the perspective of civilization and aimed at prosperity, peace, and happiness in both worlds. What Akhism aimed and its philosophy was to make it on the basis of Islamic mysticism based on the economic order of the society. It was based on giving what you have and taking what you do not have. It was an untimely human construction model. What was the goal? It was to raise honest and moral people, to raise people inclined toward production, not consumption. All this was a manifestation of the Islamic tradition.".

Akhism, of which followers are people from all strata, is a Social System Based on the Qur'an and the Sunnah

Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya reminded the audience that the aim of establishing social structures to teach art and professional skills and to provide military service to defend the homeland when necessary was in the codes of the Akhism tradition. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya emphasized that these were important goals in terms of raising or creating a country. Referring to the metaphor that humanity was based on neediness, Rector Karakaya noted that from past to present, the man was an entity based on giving what he had and taking what he did not have. Karakaya stated that we should always keep in our minds the fact that the Qur'an and the Sunnah were the greatest guides in that regard. Karakaya, who said that Akhism did its part on this path, ended his speech as follows: “Ahi-order is a system that appeals to all backgrounds and has followers from all strata. It is a school based on the Qur'an and Sunnah. It aims at a society with a high conscience and the quality of the production of the people it builds. This knowledge is a manifestation of the Islamic tradition. That is timeless information; oral norms that produce value. Akhism has a philosophy that transcends time based on not stealing, not harming people, and not committing murder. For example, we are always obliged to have morality, aim for quality, and produce value. If we can't live these things, it is our problem under today's conditions. If there is no love and tolerance, we need to return and meet with the Ahi community, because the modern world is based on measurements, and since it could not measure it, it could not explain everything."

If Ahi-Order will be Relived, its Core should Emerge from Kırşehir.

At the end of his speech, the Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who stated that the Ahi-order encouraged a structure that was producer-consumer-in peace, state-nation in peace, and the seller-buyer in peace, stated that if Ahi-Order will be relived, the core of it should emerge from Kırşehir. Prof. Dr. Kubilay Kolukırık, Head of the Music Department of Neşet Ertaş Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Kubilay Kolukırık recited pieces from Turkish Folk and Art music, while teacher Salih Yeni recited poetry in the program.
