An Ashura Event was organized by the Rectorate of KAEU and the Department of Health, Culture and Sports on the occasion of Muharram. Rector of our University Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, heads of departments, school principals, academic and administrative staff, students, and stakeholders attended the event held on 16 August 2022 at the Central Campus.

All staff of KAEU showed great interest in the Ashura event, which started with the Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya serving Ashura. Referring to the month of Muharram and the importance of Ashura, Rector Karakaya stated that Ashure was an expression of sharing, solidarity, unity, togetherness, and love, and a symbol of abundance and fertility. Noting that serving Ashura in Muharram always had a place in the culture and traditions of the Turkish Nation, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya congratulated all the guests on the month of Muharram and wished for the continuation of unity, solidarity, and oneness.
