Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Rector Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya was the guest on the "Doğru Tercih" program of Sadık Gültekin broadcasted live on NTV screens on July 21, 2022. The Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya mentioned the achievements, internationalization, distance education, and regional development processes of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University in the program held for the university preference period.

Rector Karakaya, who started his speech by wishing success to the students in the university preference period, stated that young people were valuable and hoped the students to prefer the areas they would love to do and they were interested in, not popular areas. Expressing that they always tried to touch the students and be in harmony with them, Karakaya said, “The load of the Ahi-order value is on us and we act within this responsibility. We care about student satisfaction, we promise them quality education". Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who stated that Akhism was felt morally inside and as a quality outside, emphasized that they had received the Ahilik patent of the modern era.
We Care About Academic Competence and Internationalization, and Cultures of 60 Countries are Present in Kırşehir
Noting the importance of internationalization in the academic world, Rector Karakaya said, “We have agreements with over 200 universities in the world. We come together with the universities that we have agreements with and carry out studies that are projections for the future. The cultures of 60 countries are represented in Kırşehir, each of them is our voluntary envoy.”
AYDEP Designs the Best for Students
Program host Sadık Gültekin asked Rector Karakaya about the details of the Ahi Competence-Based Digital Education Project (AYDEP), which guarantees quality education developed by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University. Talking about the project, which was registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, Karakaya said, “AYDEP, which offers both formal and online courses during the COVID-19 process, was developed based on the process and became the first local software in our country. Thanks to AYDEP, which determines what to learn and at what level for students, 20 thousand students could be trained at the same time. The system provided convenience to both students and teachers. Our triple system, which is a complete whole with our program design and process control, assessment process and not bearing any logical deficiencies, does not fail.”
KAEU has 10 Faculties, and New Departments in Vocational Schools are Opening According to the Demands of the Sector
Rector Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who stated that they showed effort in opening departments for the labor force demanded by the sector, said that they both increased their cooperation with a pragmatist approach and tried to contribute to the workforce. Karakaya emphasized that they were an entrepreneurial, innovative, and dynamic university with the qualified associate, undergraduate, and graduate programs, increasing its place in international rankings every year.
Pointing out that Kırşehir Ahi Evran University was a specialized university, Rector Karakaya stated that they carried out value-added studies in agriculture, geothermal, and animal husbandry and that they were trying to support regional development with the synergy achieved with the stakeholders.
Kırşehir is a Student-Friendly City
Rector Karakaya stated that they were entitled to receive the Full Institutional Accreditation Certificate, which sets a new direction for Turkish Higher Education by ensuring that universities are evaluated in the quality assurance system, education and training, research and development, social contribution, and administrative processes. Rector Karakaya underlined that thanks to that document, they would be included in the category of quality universities in the OSYM preference guide.
Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Rector Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who gave advice to students, recommended that young people should be patient, work in the field they love, need, and desire, and most importantly, be brave. Rector Karakaya concluded his speech by inviting young people to Kırşehir for modern campus life in the "Center of Ahi-Order", which had been selected as a "Satisfactory Student-Friendly City" in Turkey University Satisfaction Surveys (TÜMA -TUSR- 2022), and it had easy living, transportation and accommodation opportunities.
