The "Ahi Competency-Based Education Project" (AYDEP) developed by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University continues to attract the attention of the national media. Sabah announced the news of AYDEP to its readers with the headline "Virtual University" via AYDEP.
Sabah reported that AYDEP sheds light on the virtual university practice in its news. The newspaper reports that the "Ahi Competency-Based Education Project" (AYDEP), which emerged as an idea in 2015 at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and started being implemented as a pilot project in the Faculty of Education in 2016, obtained a patent from the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and it set an example for many universities and educational institutions.
The Sabah newspaper, which also included the statements of the Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, stated that KAEU kept the process under control and ensured that its students continued their education without interruption during the pandemic. Announcing the features of AYDEP to its readers, the newspaper also evaluated that the system was student-oriented, that education was never interrupted during the pandemic, and that it offered the opportunity to conduct synchronous (simultaneous/live/interactive) and asynchronous (non-interactive/file sharing) lessons.
The newspaper, which also included the statements of Rector Karakaya who emphasized the being competency-based, facilitating planning for students, supporting communication, and easily accessible aspects of the system, highlighted that AYDEP had recently succeeded in obtaining a patent from the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and that it is the first national software in this field of our country.
