KAEU organized the program “EU Youth Meetings” by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS). Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for European Union (EU) Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, Turkish National Agency Communications Coordinator Dr. Rana Kasapoğlu Önder, Head of Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dilşad Kırbaşlı Karaoğlu, the EU Affairs Experts of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Europe at Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aysel Tolunay and Pınar Tanlak, and the Dean of FEAS Prof. Dr. Nur Çetin participated in the program, which was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Burak Güneş from the FEAS International Relations Department.
Dean of FEAS Prof. Dr. Nur Çetin made the opening speech of the program and stated that they were happy to be holding this program as a faculty. Expressing that thanks to the program, the students would be informed about the EU journey of Turkey, Dr. Çetin wished the program to be fruitful and thanked Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director of EU Affairs.
After the speech of the Dean of FEAS Prof. Dr. Nur Çetin, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya took the floor and said that the EU journey of the Republic of Turkey was a very significant process. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who wanted students to benefit from the program in which the importance of EU membership for Turkey would be discussed, wished the EU Youth Meetings program to be beneficial.
After the opening speeches, Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı made a presentation titled "Turkey-EU Relations". Drawing attention to the importance of EU membership for our country, Ambassador Kaymakcı gave information about the history and current situation of the Turkey-EU relationship and touched upon the challenges faced by our country in the membership process. Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı explained that when Turkiye becomes a member of the EU, Turkiye would make use of its economic, political, military, and geostrategic position in the best way, and he stated that the goal of Turkiye was full membership to the EU and efforts were continuing to achieve this goal.
After the speech of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director of EU Affairs, and Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, Turkish National Agency Communications Coordinator Dr. Rana Kasapoğlu Önder made a presentation titled “Erasmus+ and Youth Programs. Head of Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dilşad Kırbaşlı Karaoğlu made a presentation titled “Career Opportunities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs”. EU Affairs Expert Aysel Tolunay made a presentation on the “Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme” and EU Affairs Expert Pınar Tanlak made a presentation on the “European College Scholarship Programme”.
The EU Youth Meetings program ended after answering the participants' questions.
