Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya attended the Migration Workshop, which was prepared in cooperation with Gaziantep Governorship, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, Gaziantep University (GAÜN), Şahinbey Municipality, Şehitkamil Municipality, and Cihannüma Foundation. Many participants, as well as the Governor of Gaziantep Davut Gül, took part in the workshop held at GAÜN Mâvera Congress and Art Center on 25-26 March 2022.

At the workshop, Governor of Gaziantep Davut Gül, Rector of GAÜN Prof. Dr. Arif Özaydın, Mayor of Şahinbey Mehmet Tahmazoğlu, and President of Cihannüma Association Atty. Rıza Yorulmaz made the opening speeches of the workshop and they evaluated the phenomenon of migration.



Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya stated that one of the most important problems of the world we live in was migration, and stated that migration was a humanitarian, religious, economic, and social situation and it is necessary to evaluate all perspectives of the migration phenomenon. Rector Karakaya, who also said that the wars in the world had a great impact on migration, noted that our country also provided help and support to a lot of immigrants due to its geopolitical position. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who stated that the Migration Workshop was important in evaluating the positive or negative impact of migration, added that studies on migration would be carried out by academicians in the related field.
