Rector of Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who was elected a board member of the Higher Education Quality Council of Turkey (THEQC), attended the THEQC Board Meeting. The meeting, which took place on February 15, 2022, at THEQC Meeting Hall, was attended by President of CoHE Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of THEQC Prof. Dr. Muhsin Kar, Former President of THEQC Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, Board Member Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya as well as former and new board members.



The quality progress of Turkish Higher Education was discussed at the Board Meeting of THEQC, which aims to strengthen the quality assurance system in the field of higher education to contribute to the continuous development of higher education institutions in our country and to reach the universal qualifications of individuals. At the Board Meeting, where the members shared their knowledge, experience, and opinions, they stated that they would continue their work non-stop to achieve the strategic goals determined in line with the mission and vision of THEQC.

After the THEQC Board Meeting, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya attended another meeting under the chairmanship of the President of CoHE Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, and former board members and new board members came together and shared ideas there. In the meeting, former board members presented their views on working systems, activity plans, work carried out in the quality assurance system and the point reached to the new board members.

Providing brief information about the meeting, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya said that he believed that all members would contribute to the development of the quality assurance system in higher education institutions together by sharing their experiences in quality studies at the THEQC Board Meeting. Rector Karakaya, who stated that they would contribute to the improvement of Turkish Higher Education to encourage the dissemination of quality culture and to establish cooperative relations among all stakeholders, noted that the efforts to ensure continuous improvement of the system would continue with the widespread adoption of the quality assurance system with reduced bureaucratic burden in higher education with innovative practices.
