Taking firm steps towards being a model for Turkish Higher Education in the quality process, KAUE was finally included in the Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP) by the Higher Education Quality Board (THEQC) and underwent a successful process. A meeting was held with the TSI Kayseri Provincial Coordination Office as a requirement of the TS EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System for KAEU, of which surveillance audits continue. The meeting, which was held on January 24, 2022 in the Senate Hall of KAEU, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, Vice-Rector and Quality Coordinator Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gökbel, Secretary-General Mehmet Zeki Küçük, Head of TSI Kayseri Provincial Coordination Team Süleyman Selim Ulaş and investigator Halil İbrahim Arslan, Deputy Quality Coordinators Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şimşek and Ekrem Öztürk. The surveillance audit of the quality processes implemented in all units of the university will be carried out for three days (24 – 26 January 2022).
Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya made important remarks about the current process.

In his speech addressed to TSI inspectors, Karakaya stated that they have made significant progress in terms of quality. Reminding that two quality management systems developed especially through the TSI process have been put into practice, Rector Karakaya said that one of them is the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) and the other is the Ahi Competence-Based Education Project (AYDEP). Pointing out that the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office has registered IQMS under the name of Ahi Evran Integrated Quality Management System as a type of computer program, Karakaya stated that AYDEP will soon receive accreditation as a utility model in education. Stating that they aim to train quality people, they do not think of quality as a document hanging on the walls, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya stated that they have proceeded to export the systems to other universities.

In the last part of his speech, Rector Karakaya evaluated that the strategic plans for 2017-2021 were completed with 80% realization in terms of quality, and he said that they revised their new strategic plans and made them more suitable for real life, and noted that the advantage of the new plan is that their planning is completely based on automation. Karakaya stated that each of their goals in IQMS became an indicator of performance and they applied it to every stage of life in a logical construct. Stating that they are candidates for the institutional accreditation of THEQC, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya noted the following: “Investigations regarding the process were carried out by THEQC and related reports were prepared. Five-year accreditation requires 650 points. We are confident that we will get a score higher than required. Now our reports have been sent to THEQC, we had a successful process and I hope our development will continue.”
The Surveillance Audit meeting ended after the representatives of the TSI Kayseri Provincial Coordination Office expressed their opinions. After the meeting, the quality inspection of the units has started to be carried out.
