The "Geothermal Advanced Greenhouse Technologies and Production Techniques Joint Application and Research Center (JİSTUAM)", which was established under the coordination of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University and in partnership with Ankara University and Selçuk University, continues its activities by going futher. In this context, a meeting was held with the management of JISTUAM under the chairmanship of Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya. At the meeting held on January 06, 2022 at the rector's office, faculty members in the management of JISTUAM informed Rector Karakaya about the current status of the JISTUAM activities.

Rector Karakaya: "We will Look for Solutions to the Greenhouse Farming Problems with the Stakeholders"

Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya received information about the progression of JISTUAM activities, which was established under the coordination of KAEU. Rector Karakaya emphasized that activities of JISTUAM should be started immediately within the scope of Law No. 6550 on Supporting Research Infrastructures, and stated that they should seek solutions to problems and evaluate opportunities with stakeholders from different segments. Karakaya reminded that JISTUAM is an application and research center that will contribute to scientific and technological development by using advanced techniques in the field of greenhouse cultivation, which is determined as a priority within the scope of national goals and policies.

Rector Karakaya: “Now, Universities Must Produce Projects that will Contribute to National and International Scientific-Technological Developments”

Karakaya further said that shaping scientific societies and establishing cooperation in the field of greenhouse cultivation will contribute to attracting qualified manpower and sharing the knowledge produced with the private sector. Rector Karakaya added that a new R&D and innovation ecosystem model has started to be created in Turkiye with joint application and research centers established in different thematic areas among different universities, and he stressed that universities now work harder for a more advanced, modern and innovative Turkiye by producing projects that will contribute to national and international scientific and technological developments.
