An online meeting was held on January 5, 2022 by the Presidency of THEQC within the scope of the Introduction of the New Version (v3) of the Higher Education Quality Commissions Scaled Grading Key. THEQC President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Elmas, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya and the rectors and vice-rectors of universities attended the meeting.


Institutional Evaluation Processes of THEQC are Performed with 14 Criteria and 46 Sub-Criteria

At the meeting, it was explained that the institutional evaluation processes of THEQC were carried out with a holistic perspective: Leadership, Management and Quality, Education, Research and Development, and Social Contribution, with a total of 14 criteria and 46 sub-criteria. While it was stated that the main tool used in the evaluation processes was the THEQC Scaled Grading Key, it was emphasized that this grading key is also a measurement tool used in the internal evaluation studies of the institutions, in the writing of the internal evaluation report of the institution and in the external evaluation processes.


THEQC Wants to Increase Clarity, Objectivity, Clarity, Consistency and Transparency in Decision-Making Processes

In the continuation of the explanations, THEQC Graded Evaluation Key; It was noted that it was developed to increase clarity, objectivity, clarity, consistency and transparency in institutional evaluation or decision-making processes. For each sub-criterion, quality assurance processes or mechanisms; While explaining that the stages of planning, doing, checking, and acting (PDCA) are taken into consideration, it was pointed out that they are graded on a scale between 1-5. In the last section, it was stated that the level of meeting the relevant criteria of the sub-criteria, whose maturity level was determined, was decided with the grading key. The meeting ended after the comments were made.

Rector Karakaya: "The Criteria of THEQC Added Value to KAEU"

Commenting on the meeting, Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya noted that the THEQC process adds value to every layer of the university and increases their abilities by penetrating the units. Emphasizing that they are determined to control and implement these criteria with all their units, Karakaya said: “when you want to raise good people, you want to be an entrepreneurial university, you have a desire to compete, these criteria will take us further. We have just completed the IAP process, and we hope to complete this process successfully and take Kırşehir Ahi Evran University one step further.”
