A series of events were organized by KAEU Vocational School of Health Services within the scope of "Paramedics Day". The event held in Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center Neşet Ertaş Hall on 23 December 2021 was attended by the Director of Vocational School of Health Services, Asst. Prof. Dr. Cihad Öztürk and Eskişehir Provincial Ambulance Service Training Unit Officer Harun Özkan as speakers.

Vocational School Director Asst. Prof. Dr. Cihad Öztürk, who delivered the opening speech of the event, said that paramedics, who constitute an important part of pre-hospital emergency care, are usually health technicians who intervene in critical situations for the sick and injured at the first moment. Öztürk emphasized that paramedics, who are one of the most important employees of the health services and work day and night, have to evaluate the critical moment between death and life quickly and accurately.

Harun Özkan, Head of the Training Unit of Eskişehir Provincial Ambulance Service, who made his presentation titled "Emergency Case Management and Approach to Forensic Cases", said that the paramedics understood the patient's problem, evaluated the situation and provided emergency care when necessary. Expressing that paramedics should ensure the safety of themselves, the patient and the team during the intervention, Özkan pointed out that the important duties of paramedics are to manage the crime scene, to intervene in forensic cases without darkening the evidence, to calm people in panic and to communicate.

After the panels and presentations, a medical intervention competition was held with the equipment support of 112 healthcare teams in various stages involving professional knowledge and skills. According to the scenario, the students competed in order to make the accurate intervention to the injured and patients as soon as possible. After the competition, in which the knowledge gained through training was put into practice, the competition ended with the presentation of trophies and medals to the winners.
