Participating as a speaker in the program called "New Directions in Public Diplomacy" organized by the International Relations and Civilization Studies Society of KAEU, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Göksu, who is an official in the Communications Department and Member of the Board of TRT, visited Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya. During the visit that took place at the rector's office on December 20, 2021, the country's agenda and the activities of KAEU were discussed.

Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Rector Karakaya thanked TRT Board Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Göksu and his companions.

After the visit, the program called “The Event of New Directions in Public Diplomacy”, which will take place at the Ahi Evran Congress and Culture Center on July 15, Milli İrade Hall, was started.

Nurbanu Gürbüz, President of the International Relations and Civilization Studies Society, made the opening speech of the program attended by academic and administrative staff and many students. In her speech, Gürbüz gave information about the purpose, mission and vision of their community and said that their activities will continue throughout the year.

After the speech of Nurbanu Gürbüz, Head of the International Relations and Civilization Studies Society of KAEU, Prof. Dr. Nur Çetin, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS), took the floor and thanked TRT Board Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Göksu for participating in the event. Stating that as FEAS, they cooperate with public institutions and civil organizations in order to increase their students' access to information and to bring them together with experts in their fields, Çetin noted that public diplomacy aims to build deep-rooted and firm relations between societies and cultures. Prof. Dr. Nur Çetin stated that TRT Board Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Göksu will provide information on the Directorate of Communications and function in TRT in public diplomacy, soft power capacity and digital diplomacy activities of Turkiye, and she advised the students to benefit from the knowledge and experience of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Göksu.

After the speech of Dean of FEAS Prof. Dr. Nur Çetin, TRT Board Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Göksu took the floor and made his speech. In his speech, Göksu said that besides hard power, soft power has become the most important dynamics that determine the images, reputations and perceptions of countries. Talking about the international media, Göksu emphasized that the complementary element in public diplomacy is media management. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Göksu stated that the digital and psychological warfare phase, which is the perception management of the business, is also very important, and he said, “Digital diplomacy is among the most important instruments to influence foreign public opinion in today's communication methods and techniques.”. Expressing that public diplomacy and perception management should be considered as a kind of persuasion industry, Göksu emphasized that image, reputation, and perception management stages are critical levels.
