The YÖKAK Evaluation Team visited KAEU, which was included in the Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP) for 2021 by the Higher Education Quality Board, on 07-09 December 2021. Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Macit Fikret Suner, the evaluation team consisting of Prof. Dr. Süleyman Doğan, Prof. Dr. Ali Bilgin, Prof. Dr. Füsun Eyidoğan, Prof. Dr. Erdogan Çiçek, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sevda Çiftçi, Alaattin Soruklu, and Türkan Yalçın carried out the field visit and face-to-face interviews and left the university.

Institutional Accreditation Process Added Value to KAEU

After the IAP Evaluation Team left the university, the Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya stated that they work under the responsibility of raising good people and noted that the IAP process adds value to every level of the university and increases their abilities by including the units into the process. Rector Karakaya, referring to the fact that they can notice their developmental aspects, which need improvement, more clearly thanks to their understanding of quality, said that they aim to be an efficient, competitive, and entrepreneurial university with a holistic understanding. Karakaya stated that their main aim is to ensure that students and all stakeholders receive high-quality service and that they continue to towards their goals with continuous improvements.

Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya continued his words as follows: “First of all, I would like to thank the Head and Members of the YÖKAK Evaluation Team who participated in the IAP field visit. I would also like to thank all our external stakeholders, especially our Honorable Governor, who supported the field visit program and participated in the stakeholder meeting. I would like to thank the IAP Preparatory Commission, which was assigned to organize the evaluation process, our valuable academic and administrative staff for their devoted work, and our students who embraced the process. With the same enthusiasm and spirit, I believe that our university will reach a level that will set an example for other universities with its applications and systems in the future.”
