Kırşehir, which was established in the Kızılırmak basin in the Central Anatolia Region and has hosted many civilizations with its approximately five thousand years of history, became one of the important centers of Turkish-Islamic civilization after the 1071 Malazgirt Victory when the Anatolian gates were opened to Muslim-Turkish people. In order to fully reveal the place of Kırşehir in our culture and civilization and the potential it has today, it is expected to shed light on the history of Mucur with 88 papers presented in 19 sessions at KAEÜ Mucur Vocational School between 7-9 October 2021.

The Director of Mucur Vocational School Assoc. Dr. Cahit Aytekin made the opening speech of the symposium hosted by KAEU. Aytekin stated that Mucur's history, tourism, natural beauties, literary aspects, and important people who lived in history would be examined in detail in sessions. He thanked all institutions and organizations that supported the organization of the symposium for their contributions and wished the symposium to be successful.

Mayor Yılmaz: "Mucur Requires Serious Study on Its Poetry, Bards, and Culture"

After the Director of Mucur Vocational School Assoc. Dr. Cahit Aytekin, Mucur Mayor Atılgan Yılmaz gave a speech. Yılmaz started his speech by thanking Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya for his support in all works done in Mucur. Yılmaz stated that Mucur is a district in the center of Turkey due to its geographical features, and noted that the district is at the same distance to the east and west. Mayor Yılmaz stated that Mucur requires serious studies on its poets, bards, and culture, and this symposium, which will last for three days, will contribute to the history of Mucur, and that they would ensure that the papers that would be discussed at the symposium would be turned into a book.

Rector Karakaya: “The Purpose of the Studies Carried on the Districts is to Shed Light on the Present by Starting from the Seljuk-Ottoman Traces”

Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya, who took the floor after Mayor of Mucur Atılgan Yılmaz, started his speech by referring to Ibn Haldun's saying "Geography is Destiny". After reminding that geography comprises the culture, history, and literature in its heart, Rector Karakaya pointed out the metaphor of "Human-beings are mortal, the soil is what remains behind" and stated that geographical studies will enable to reveal cultures and civilizations. Karakaya pointed out that it is their responsibility to carry out the scientific studies, which will go down in history, and underlined that the aim of the studies, which they carried on districts, was to shed light on the present day by starting from the Seljuk-Ottoman traces.

Rector Karakaya: “We aim to leave the Traditions and Literature of Mucur as a Legacy to the Next Generation through Written Records and Scientific Ways”

Noting that one of the aims of the All Aspects of Mucur Symposium is to reveal the tradition and literature of the past, Karakaya said that they aim to leave them as a legacy to the next generation through written records and scientific means. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya stated that the region was a region that brought out sultans of the heart such as Ahi Evran-ı Veli, Yunus Emre, Hacı Bektaş-ı Veli, and also reminded that the region also raised scientists and literary figures such as Cacabey, Süleyman Türkmani, and Ahmed-i Gülşehri.
