KAEU Rector Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya attended the Term Meeting of the Association of Anatolian Universities hosted by Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University. Higher Education Council (YÖK) Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Naci Gündoğan, the rectors of 12 universities and guests attended the meeting, which was held at Erdoğan Büyükkasap Congress and Culture Center on October 1, 2021.

Rector of Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Prof. Dr. Akın Levent pointed out the founding purpose of the association in his opening speech and stated that the aim of the Association of Anatolian Universities is to share the knowledge and experiences of universities with each other. Levent concluded his speech by drawing attention to the importance of sharing knowledge and experience on the formation of better management and education systems, and the establishment and use of common infrastructure.

YÖK Executive Board Member Gündoğan: “Different Expertise Experiences of Each University is a Richness”

Member of YÖK Executive Board Prof. Dr. Naci Gündoğan stated that mission differentiation program of universities of YÖK came into force about 4-5 years ago, in his speech.  Gündoğan explained that universities were divided into two groups, focused on research and regional development, and the project has been progressing very well.

In the continuation of his speech, Prof. Dr. Naci Gündoğan pointed out that it is extremely beneficial to establish a cooperation between the universities of the region, where they share their knowledge and experience, and said, “Each university has different specializations, it is very nice that the academicians share their experiences in this context. With the contributions of other universities, these associations will become even richer.”


Rector Karakaya: “Works on Employment and Production are Responding Quickly in the Field”

Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya who evaluated the progress of KAEU in projects at the term meeting of the Association of Anatolian Universities, shared information about the activities carried out by Kırşehir Ahi Evran University within the scope of Regional Development-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Projects, and the stages of the projects. Rector Karakaya, who stated that KAEU is a university that provides added value to its region, claimed that the studies on employment and production quickly found a response in the field. Prof. Dr. Vatan Karakaya who explained that during the global epidemic period, they continued to work both academically and on projects, said that their aim is to brand Kırşehir's values, contribute to the region and make Kırşehir a center of attraction.

“R&D” and “New Generation Education” were the Main Agenda of the Meeting

At the meeting of the Association of Anatolian Universities, the main agenda topics "R&D" and "New Generation Education" were discussed. In line with the term meeting program of the Anatolian Universities Association, the “Research Centers (EUTAM) Directors Meeting” was held at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the “Education Commissions Directors” meeting was held at the Faculty of Education. The program ended after the meetings between the association members.
