A Conference entitled "Independence Process of Kazakhistan and Turk-Kazakh Relations" was organized by the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of our university. The head of the Turkish parliament's Turkey-Kazakhstan Friendship Group and Şanlıurfa Deputy of the Justice and Development Party Mehmet Cevheri, the vice-rector of our university Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gökbel and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Nur Çetin attended the conference as speakers. The conference was broadcasted live on our YouTube channel and AYDEP system. 

Çetin: “Turkey was the first country that recognized Kazakhs when they declared their independence.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Prof. Dr. Nur Çetin, the conference's moderator, stated that Kazakhstan celebrates the 29th anniversary of its independence, and Turkey was the first country that recognized Kazakhs when they declared their independence. Dean Çetin also stated that even though there are thousands of kilometers between Turkey and Kazakhstan, they are the countries that share the same culture, language, and religion, and Turkey has always stood by Kazakh people and will continue to stand by them. Kazakhstan has become the shining star of Asia as a representative of the Turkish world and has historical bounds with our country; Kazakhstan was the first country that visited our country after the July 15 Coup Attempt, declared support for Turkey, Çetin stressed. 

Gökbel: “The Middle East needs Anatolian spirit.

Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gökbel started his speech by expressing his sincere thanks to the head of the Turkish parliament's Turkey-Kazakhstan Friendship Group and Şanlıurfa Deputy of the Justice and Development Party Mehmet Cevheri for his participation and contributions to the conference. Vice-Rector Gökbel stated that six years ago, there were only eight guest students at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, yet today this number is 1828, and half of these students come from Middle East countries. Prof. Dr. Gökbel drew attention to the fact that Ahmad Yasawi sent his best students to Anatolia in order to enable Islam to settle in Anatolia, and he concluded his remarks by stating today the Middle East needs the Anatolian spirit. 

Cevheri: “We should build a bridge between our hearts with Kazakhstan.

Following the speech of our Vice-RectorProf. Dr. Ahmet Gökbel, the head of the Turkish parliament's Turkey-Kazakhstan Friendship Group and Şanlıurfa Deputy of the Justice and Development Party Mehmet Cevheri presented his speech. He mentioned the Soviet invasion lasting for two and a half centuries between 1734 and 1991, thus building bridges between our hearts with Kazakhstan, which has cultural and spiritual losses has great importance, he said. From the invasion until the day on which it gained its independence, there have been great tragedies for Kazakhstan, and the country lost two-thirds of its population due to the massacres and slaughters. Cevheri also stated that the most prominent feature of the nations coming from the steppe culture is the fact that they are fond of their independence, and Kazakhstan's gaining its independence on 16th December 1991 without shedding blood thanks to Nazarbayev, who was the elder one, was important. 

Cevheri: “We need the uniting wisdom of Ahmad Yesewi.

The head of the Turkish parliament's Turkey-Kazakhstan Friendship Group Mehmet Ali Cevheri highlighted the crucial importance of developing commercial relations, mutual investments, the fulfillment of universities' missions between Turkey and Kazakhstan, and we can take on many challenges with cooperation and solidarity. Cevheri also stated that we need the uniting wisdom of Ahmad Yasawi in the fields like educational and spiritual construction of Kazakhstan. We should take Islam as a reference, and he believes in the heart the guest students who study in our country will contribute to the Islam brotherhood.
